REIKI Level 1

New Session upcoming:

Sunday March 4, 2012 1-6 pm
with Amanda Main

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words- Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki, which is "life force energy." Together, reiki can be translated as "spiritually guided life force energy."  Reiki is a non-invasive, holistic method of treating the entire body, including emotions, mind, and spirit. Recipients are left in a deep relaxation with feelings of peace, security, and well-being, making treatments very successful for those suffering from chronic ailments and diseases.

Reiki techniques can be taught, however the actual ability to use Reiki on yourself and others is transferred to the student during what is called an "attunement" by a Reiki Master.  There are 3 levels of Reiki training, each one bringing you deeper into the understanding of energy transference, healing and self-actualization. This Level 1 workshop will guide you into the healing world of reiki. Together you will explore how to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve your health and enhance your quality of life.

Level 1 Workshop Fee: $150
(Levels 2 and 3 will be offered in the months to follow)

Alternate weeks beginning Friday Jan 20 6:00-9:00 pm

Interested in learning about the poignant, spiritual side of yoga? You may not be ready for the full commitment of our Yoga Teacher’s Training, (a comprehensive learning experience that dives deep into all 8 limbs of yoga for personal growth and future teaching opportunities for those interested in sharing their yoga with others) but you can still consider joining our yoga teacher trainees as an adjunct student enrolled in “The True Meaning of Yoga”– a series of lecture/discussion classes held on Friday evenings from 6:00-9:00 for six alternate weeks beginning Jan. 20th.

For only $200.00 you can participate in 18 hours of lecture/study where you will learn about the yoga sutras, karma yoga and the meaning of “big yoga” a concept which explores how to bring the lessons of yoga off the mat and into your life for more contentment, personal joy and a deeper understanding of your relationship with people and the world at large.

The True Meaning of Yoga coursework is not only intellectually stimulating and thought provoking, but provides engaging new connections to like-minded people who appreciate and value yoga in its purest form and it helps you consider and evaluate your life, your actions and your outlook.

The True Meaning of Yoga will enhance your life, and if in the future you ever decide to enroll in the full 200 RYT teacher’s training certification at ReFlex, we will discount the fee by the cost of this program and you will have already completed this portion of the studies, giving you a head start and a great opportunity to wade into the waters of more involved yoga study.

Put the True Meaning of Yoga course on your Christmas wish list, or purchase this unique experience as a surprise gift for the yoga aficionado on your list. It even makes a great date night for couples or good friends who need a reason they have to get out and do something positive and uplifting on a Friday night (and there is still time to go out for dinner afterwards to make a full night of it.)

CREATIVE WRITING and JOURNALING WORKSHOP
Next session: Friday: January 13 6:00-9:00 pm

Write your way to a deeper understanding of yourself and the world at large.

Writing is one of the most effective techniques for making poignant connections, uncovering hidden feelings, and defining your deepest yearnings, personal desires, and goals. Gain clarity and insight about your relationships and explore the triggers for your behaviors and the walls that hold you back from achieving happiness and personal contentment. As you define your wants and needs, writing can lead to fresh insight, suggesting new paths and discovering hidden doorways to free your spirit. An intimate and profound way to set goals, relieve stress, embrace emotional healing, or to awaken your creative spirit, journaling is a great key to feeling balanced, inspired, and at peace.

This journaling workshop offers a variety of techniques and creative exercises for self-discovery. Learn new tools and novel approaches to explore your inner world through private writing. The course includes in-class exercises, provides insights to the power of writing, and offers suggestions about how to overcome self-consciousness or privacy concerns. Students take home pages of writing ideas and prompts, making this three hour course the foundation for a lifetime of inspiration.

The Creative Journaling Workshop is taught by Ginny East. Ginny has a Masters in Fine Arts in Creative Writing and is an RYT 500 yoga instructor. She has won numerous writing awards, and has taught in seminars and for organizations nationwide.
